Why does chiropractic work?

Chiropractic works because your nervous system, consisting of your brain, spinal cord and all the nerves of your body, controls and regulates every cell, tissue, organ and system of your body. A chiropractor locates and reduces areas of nervous system compromise (usually along the spine) so your capacity to heal is restored. Chiropractic works by helping your body work as it was designed.

What is the purpose of pain?

Pain prompts many Cedar Rapids folks to begin chiropractic care. But pain isn't the problem! Pain is just how your body alerts you that a limit has been reached (or exceeded), that something isn't working right and that some type of change is needed. As a chiropractor, my job is finding the underlying cause and recommending the changes needed to bring your body back into balance.

Make Yourself at Home

You�ll find plenty of convenient parking and a well-lit parking lot. You will be asked to complete your admitting paperwork. After doing so Dr. Dennis will review your paperwork with you and ask more detailed questions about your history.��

We Explain Everything First

The purpose of your consultation with the doctor is to discuss your health goals and see if chiropractic is likely to help you. If it looks promising, a thorough examination will help identify the cause of your problem.

If there is a medical necessity x-rays will be taken of the appropriate area of your spine and reviewed with you by Dr. Dennis. The doctor will also conduct a through neuro-muscular examination. He will explain how this works and how changes in your muscle strength gives him indications of your body's structure and function and how chiropractic can improve your body's structure, function as well as remove pain symptoms.
